In 1 sentence, what was your first impression of Kundalini Yoga?

It was weird yet felt familiar in my body and sparked a deep connection with God I had not experienced since I was a child.

Tell us your love story with Kundalini Yoga.

After experiencing my first spiritual awakening about 10 years ago and my life falling apart in the process, I started working with a spiritual teacher. Not knowing much about it, he had an intuitive suggestion that I start Kundalini Yoga. I had my first class in Portland, Oregon in 2011 and fell in love immediately with the practice. Since then I dove into Kundalini Yoga and found the teacher within me.

Do you have a day job? If yes, what is if?

I am a healer practicing Zero Balancing and Kundalini Yoga therapy. I give treatments in the Lotus Healing Room on Thursdays! I am also in Traditional Chinese Medicine school full time.

What do you eat for breakfast?

Usually alternate between oatmeal or eggs.

How often do you do a daily practice? What do you do?

I have completed a 1000 day meditation and am now a year into my second 1000 day meditation. This one is the “Half Star of David Meditation to Become a Natural Healer”. My intent is to continue doing 1000 day meditations for the rest of my life.

Have you learned any big lessons recently?

Having a specific intent for each day and writing down what I’m grateful for each day is transformational.

What is it about teaching that lights you up?

There’s usually a point when I can sense someone is connecting fully within themselves. I can feel the energy of the group shifting collectively and Yogi Bhajan’s presence is there every time. When I teach I feel completely energized.
