Covid-19 Updates

Sunday, March 15th, 2020

Dear Lotus Community,

As the severity of the COVID-19 outbreak ramps up, we have made the call to cancel all in-person classes and workshops between Monday, March 16th and Sunday, April 5th. Instead, we are offering online classes.

Our priority is protecting you, our vulnerable community members, and the people we come in contact with outside the studio.

  • All class passes and memberships will be paused from March 16th until April 5th.
  • If you’ve signed up for a workshop during this time, you’ll receive a direct email to coordinate your refund.

To support you in these 3 weeks, we will offer online classes as an alternative to coming to the studio. Please be sure to sign up for updates if you are interested in joining us. We will launch in the coming days, with a focus on breathwork, meditations, and yoga to prevent freak-out and promote a calm mind.

Stay safe and love to you,

Gurushabd & The Lotus Team

Dear Lotus Community,

We are monitoring the government’s guidelines closely to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 (at this time, large gatherings of 250 people or more are encouraged to postpone).

Currently, all classes are continuing as scheduled at Lotus, but some workshops have been cancelled, due to the vulnerable nature of the situation (ie/ the teacher has elderly parents that they care for). If you are signed up for a workshop that has been cancelled, you will receive a direct email letting you know. If the government’s guidelines change, we will adapt our class schedule accordingly, and offer online classes where possible. You can monitor our up to date class schedule here, and up to date events listings here. If you are feeling healthy and have not travelled abroad recently, we welcome you to continue coming to the studio. Here is what we are doing to keep our space safe:

  • We’ve increased the frequency of our cleaning, bringing special attention to all high contact areas (door knobs, handrails, faucets, etc). We use Benefect disinfectant, the same product we use to clean our mats.
  • We’ve made hand-sanitizer available throughout the studio.
  • We’re replacing hand towels in our bathrooms with disposable paper towels.
  • As of tomorrow, we will be removing reuseable tea and water cups from the waiting area; please bring your own water bottle.
  • We’ve removed access to eye-pillows.
  • If you have signed up for an upcoming event that you can no longer attend because of COVID-19, we are offering a full refund. Please email [email protected] to proceed.

  • Wash your hands upon arriving at Lotus and after class. Washing your hands with soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds is the most effective measure for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
  • Bring your own water bottle. We will be removing all reuseable cups from the waiting area.
  • Bring your own mat if possible. If you are using one of our mats, spray it down and wipe it before and after class.
  • Please stay home if:
    • You have a fever, cough, or shortness of breath
    • You have travelled abroad in the last 14 days, including to the US
    • You work with or regularly visit with a vulnerable population
  • Please continue to come to class if:
    • You feel healthy and safe venturing into a space with others

If you are interested in online classes as an alternative to coming to the studio, please sign up here. We are working on a new platform and will let you know when online classes become available.

Stay safe and love to you,

    Gurushabd & The Lotus Team
