Guru Ram Das Healing Meditation

with Gurushabd Khalsa

Gurushabd Khalsa Expired Workshops

Each month we host a community healing circle at Lotus. It’s a beautiful way to gather together in a peaceful healing setting. For those of us with loved ones who need healing, we share their names, keeping them in our prayers as we meditate. In our time together we warm up our bodies with a short Kundalini Yoga kriya, and practice a 31 minute chanting meditation for healing and miracles. All are welcome. This event is offered by donation, with contributions going towards a different cause each month.

About The Meditation

GuruRamDasWho is Guru Ram Das? Guru Ram Das was a saint living in the 16th Century, the fourth Guru from the Sikh faith. Guru Ram Das embodied humility, service, grace, and deep devotion. In the lineage of Kundalini Yoga, our teacher Yogi Bhajan considered Guru Ram Das to be his personal teacher and connected deeply with him in spirit.

We chant the mantra “Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru” to call on the spirit of humility and grace embodied by Guru Ram Das.  This is a mantra of self-healing, humility, relaxation, protective grace, and emotional relief. The first part of the mantra, Guru Guru Wahe Guru, projects the mind to the Infinite, the source of knowledge and ecstasy. The second part, Guru Ram Das Guru, means “the wisdom that comes as a servant of the Infinite.” This mantra projects the mind to the Infinite and then brings finite guidance on a practical level.

Our favourite version of the mantra is below. Press play and chant along when you want to invoke healing for yourself and loved ones.
