Description and Review: Anna Jedrziewski, Retailing Insight “When Paterson’s mother died, she turned to yoga and meditation for solace. Years later, when her father died, she chose a forty-day retreat at Thich Nhat Hanh’s monastery in France to help herself heal. Her honest, and insightful account of her stay there makes for very enlightening reading. She takes us on her inner journey, sharing her thoughts as she strives to live as mindfully as the nuns she is living with. Her example is a powerful teacher, and the book is a perfect companion for Thich Nhat Hanh’s writings.”

Discounted Full series: $66 pre-paid ($11 per class) or drop-in with class card or single class $17
Register for Planting Greatness in Your Unconscious Mind

Yogic teachings recognize that we are made up of a conscious and an unconscious mind. While the conscious mind has an inaccurate memory and uses filters to reason and discriminate, the unconscious mind has an impeccable memory and records without our knowledge every detail of every event since our birth. Additionally the unconscious accepts without question everything that we tell it. It can be likened to a farmer’s field. Whatever we plant into it, it will return to us ten-fold. The unconscious then is a reflection of our imagination; it returns the value of our innermost thoughts and feelings.

What are you thinking about yourself right now?

We reach the unconscious mind through yoga and meditation. You actually can fly!

Self-Love with Sound Workshop

Kundalini yoga is an ancient science that helps to awaken up our creative potential by using movement, mantra, pranayam, music and meditation to bring ourselves into a state of health and harmony. With Valentine’s Day having just past, perhaps you have shown your love to others, but have you taken the time to show yourself love? We will explore this notion of self-love through kriyas, meditation, refelction and of course: music.

Clearing Destructive Patterns

This class will help us to clear destructive patterns and inner anger so that we can approach our challenges with strength and grace. A deeper connection with our True Self will help us find the solutions to our problems and guide us in making healthy choices and changes.

From the teachings of Yogi Bhajan:
The kriyas, meditations and chants that we practice in this workshop “will bring a very powerful healing and lifting of the weight of lifetimes of pain, stress, and self-defeating patterns. To let go of our inner anger is to release any imagined disabilities we have created.
Through our practice we develop the patience to recognize our past, appreciate it for the gifts it delivered, bless it~~ and then drop it!
What a liberating moment in our lives!”

Supported by our Kundalini Yoga practice….” If we summon the courage, then we are met with the Infinity (the Divine) within and blessed to be healed by the experience of our own vastness. The Truth within and the Truth without merge into a single breath: this is grace…If you have a longing to belong then the belonging shall long to belong to you.” from the teachings of Yogi Bhajan

Clearing Destructive Patterns

Sunday Oct 21
11:30 sharp to 130pm
$25 cash or cheque. Lotus class cards do not apply to this workshop. Suitable for all levels.
Please pre-register with Katherine Duncanson

Yoga and Writing ~ Inspired Breath

Yoga and Writing are soul mates, destined to come together for a spiritual purpose. Yoga offers fleeting insights; writing captures these epiphanies in concrete form. Yoga regulates the rhythm of the breath; writing rides this rhythm through the land of language. Yoga digs into unconscious mind; writing mines the unconscious for symbolic images. Writing creates pain; yoga grants relief. Writing is an offering to the world; yoga sweetens the sacrifice. Writing is lonely; yoga offers community. Combining simple yoga poses and timed writing exercises, this course is designed to kindle your creative fire, liberate your authentic voice and illuminate your deepest truth. It will benefit seasoned writers seeking renewal, as well as yogis with a budding desire to write.
